As part of Tradfest Kilkenny, on Friday 16th March, we will be hosting our first Hedge School in conjunction with History Ireland and broadcaster Tommy Graham. The theme of this lively panel discussion is, essentially, History v Archaeology. We will have two archaeologists and two historians in the hot seats and I might suggest that those attending are not allowed leave until they have picked a side! The event will be run in cooperation with Costello’s Brewing Company so refreshments will be included and things might get rowdy. Book your tickets here.

As I write, voting is live for the Irish Construction Excellence Awards, in which the Medieval Mile Museum has been shortlisted in the Public or Heritage Building/Conservation or Restoration category. This is well-deserved honour for all the men and women who worked so hard over the last number of years, to ensure this magnificent building could be brought back to life. We would all be so grateful if you could take some time to cast your vote here

There’s plenty more to tell you about in the coming months, so keep checking back for updates.
